We want to replicate the shipbuilding activity at Fredriksvern Shipyard by building Fredriksværn Brig of War from 1814. The project includes erecting a warft in 19century style first of all, where the Brig will be built.
We have a fantastic story to share with you…It begins when you see the keel of the replica ship, when you can smell the steaming tar from the rope maker, hear the repetitive blow from the blacksmith and watch the carpenters sawing and hammering away.

The project does not intend to glorify war, even if it is based around a war ship. We are trying to bring forward part of our past to new generations. This is the story about how the sworn enemies Sweden and Norway learned to live in peace – In a few years; we can celebrate 200 years of peaceful co-existence with Sweden!
Orlogsbriggen Friderichsværn was a warship, built for war, during war, but sailed for peace – as part of a multi-national force in the Mediterranean. This indicated a new beginning in the history of Norway.
